Session Abstract: Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is one of the industry’s most frequently used – and abused – buzzwords.  With all the hype, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction.  Michael O’Rourke, VP of Product Development for IBM Rational’s Release Engineering product offerings (formerly BuildForge) will dispel popular ALM myths and discuss five critical technical foundations for effective ALM.

Speaker Bio: Michael O'Rourke is a veteran of the software industry with over 20 years of development, operations, and customer support experience.  He currently serves as Vice President of Product Development for BuildForge, which was recently acquired by IBM Rational, Inc.  In his current role, Mike guides the release engineering team’s product, QA, and support organizations.  Mike has held senior management roles at a number of companies, from industry leaders to small start-ups, including HP, Tivoli Systems, BroadJump, Agillion, and Performance Retail.
